The Coralville Chaos are a professional indoor football team based in Coralville, Iowa. They will play their home games at the Xtream Arena in Coralville starting in 2025 as members of American Indoor Football.
They were set to start in Council Bluffs and play at the Mid-America Center for 2024. They relocated to Coralville and decided to rebrand as the Chaos.
History
[edit]Rage, then rebranding as the Chaos (2024)
[edit]The Rage will take the field in 2025 under new ownership of Dominic Montero (also owner of the Cedar Rapids River Kings) and were announced as one of the newest members of the relaunched American Indoor Football league. They initially announced that they would be playing at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs for 2024. However, due to careful analysis of the financial outlook of the team—and the Arena Football League's laying stake to Council Bluffs by establishing the Iowa Rampage there (a team that would ultimately never play there[1])—the Rage announced that they will play in the AIF starting in the 2025 season at the Xtream Arena in Coralville,[2] rebranding themselves the Coralville Chaos on March 26, 2024.[3] On March 28, the Chaos hired arena football veteran Frank Haege, two-time af2 champion with the original Quad City Steamwheelers, as the team's general manager.[4] On Valentine's Day weekend 2025, the Chaos are expected to named Wisconsin Aviators owner/head coach Lawerance Peters as their new head coach.
